#vivereaspino

Widespread culture, synergy, commitment to bring children closer to experiencing Community spaces and places.

Background and Objectives of the Project

Spino d'Adda is a small town with poor connections to the region's major cultural hubs. Families, especially those in material poverty, do not have many opportunities to access the cultural offerings of the area. These difficulties are compounded by language and social barriers that limit opportunities for integration.

The project aims to bridge this cultural gap with a series of continuous and accessible activities dedicated to children aged 6 to 11, creating a widespread cultural space that is not limited to seasonal moments but is present all year round. The main objectives of the project include:
1. Promote culture as a community service, making culture accessible to all families regardless of socio-economic status.
2. Stimulate children's creativity and manual dexterity by offering art workshops and educational activities that develop practical skills and expressive abilities.
3. Create connections between different ethnic groups and cultures in the area, promoting dialogue and exchange between children and families of different backgrounds.

The project consists of various activities involving both children and their parents, promoting joint participation and stimulating creativity and social interaction:

  • Creative workshops: Creative baking, photography, drawing and storytelling workshops are planned, designed to stimulate children's manual skills and creativity, with a focus on parent-child collaboration.
  • Thematic meetings: The project includes meetings dedicated to parenting, with cycles of appointments on topics such as motherhood, time management and relationships, all with the aim of creating a network of support among families.
  • Multicultural Reading: Open readings of fairy tales and stories from different cultures aimed at raising children's awareness of diversity and inclusion.
  • Theater reviews: The project will hold afternoon theater performances for children and young people, where participants can snack together and enjoy shows designed specifically for them.
  • Mini-theater residency: An intensive theater workshop for teens culminating in a final recital, giving young people a chance to explore theater in all its forms, from acting to set design.

One of the main features of the project is the active involvement of families and children. Activities are designed to be inclusive, accessible and participatory, with special attention to the needs of parents and families. Culture is not only to be enjoyed, but experienced, with the idea that spaces such as parks, oratories and libraries can become true active cultural centers. Proposals include moments of discovery of the local area and traditions, encouraging dialogue between past and present.

The project aims not only to bring culture to families, but also to strengthen the social fabric of Spino d'Adda, creating a spirit of community and collaboration among citizens. The activities are designed in synergy with the City Council, the Municipal Library, the San Luigi Oratory and other local entities to ensure that the impact is lasting and sustainable over time.

Through #livingaspino, Retablo aims to create a model of widespread and participatory culture that involves all families and offers concrete alternatives to today's limited cultural offerings.
